air1.jpg (15650 bytes)The air tank I'm using for my on-board air system is from a semi-tractor junk yard.  They had a whole bin full of them and it cost about $15 - $20.  It's 8" in diameter and 36" long plus the bulge of the end caps.  I don't remember the formula anymore, but I calculated it to be around 5 gallons.

The air tank is finally just about mounted.   I'm in the process of installing a rear ARB locker and this will be my source of air for it.  I'm taking more pictures as I go and will update when it's done here in the near future.

The mounting is working out very well.  It sits up above the rear differential just behind where the floor of the body curves up where the front of the rear seat is.   There's quite a large hole there you can fill once you remove the stock exhaust system.  The tank mounts using the stock upper rear shock mount on the drivers side (no longer used for a shock) and a strap on the other end.

More details to follow.

Update:  The tank is now completed, installed and hooked up to my ARB.  I was able to bench test the whole thing with the ARB when I had the 3rd member out, but I am not able to do that on the truck yet.  I'm waiting for some wiring connectors that plug into the ARB switch and solenoid that I didn't get because I didn't get their compressor kit.  Once I get those I can wire it up and test it out.
